Vall d'Hebron. Description.

Vall d’Hebron is Catalonia's leading hospital and Vall d’Hebron is the most important hospital in the RMB. It was opened in 1952 and is located in Barcelona City Its complex consists of fifteen buildings representing 170,000 m2 of built-up land and covers an area of 14 hectares. Vall d’Hebron's area of influence is very large It supplies the population of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and citizens from other towns in Catalonia and Spain )., although most of the people that visit this hospital come from Barcelona City.

Besides the General Hospital, which houses the internal medicine specialities and their surgical activity, it has a Maternity and Paediatric hospital, and an Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation hospital. It also includes the Adrià Surgical Clinic. It has educational centres (it is linked to the Autonomous University of Barcelona), administrative centres, laboratories and other facilites.
